Guided Transportation (Bus-Boat combination)

The hotels mentioned above usually include guided transportation in their packages. A bus will pick you up at your hotel in San José and on the way to Tortuguero there is normally a breakfast included. Some tours also visit a Banana or Coffee Plantation on the way.

Arriving to the Canals you will continue the trip by boat that will take you to the hotel of your choice.

Air Transportation

More comfortable, but also more expensive are the transfers by airplane. You can either take a round trip, or combine boat and plane. The flight to Tortuguero takes about 30 minutes.
